MARBLE FALLS — Those making plans to watch the old U.S. 281 bridge implosion early March 17 should keep their ears open for signs the blast is near.
A Texas Department of Transportation spokesperson said horn blasts will be used to signal the coming implosion.

Crews are demolishing two strip malls in the northeast corner of the intersection of U.S. 281 and Texas 29 in Burnet to make room for a Valero convenience store, officials confirmed. During the past several years, the buildings have housed a detailing and car-repair shop, an insurance company and a gas station. MARBLE FALLS — A new restaurant is taking the place of the former Patton’s on Main in downtown.
The building, located at 201 Main St., was sold to a Houston man who owns two restaurants there. The restaurant will be called Forno’s on Main, according to Marble Falls Economic Development Corp. executive director Christian Fletcher.
