HORSESHOE BAY — A recently found deer carcass in Horseshoe Bay once again has brought attention to the presence of a mountain lion in the area.

Kingsland residents and drivers can look forward to a new Buddies convenience store opening at the corner of RR 1431 and RR 2900 this summer as owners and operators Alva Timmons (left), Derek Timmons, Brian Maples and Nancy Maples break ground on the facility. The 6,600-square-foot store will feature 10 fuel pumps plus a high-speed diesel dispenser, a franchise chicken restaurant, another food-service business and branded fuel. MARBLE FALLS — One final hurdle for the Texas Department of Transportation to use explosives to demolish the old U.S. 281 bridge in Marble Falls is cleared.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department authorized the use of explosives March 5 for a 60-day period beginning March 4.

MARBLE FALLS — Events for Spring Break 2013 were finalized during the regular meeting of the Marble Falls Parks and Recreation Commission on March 4.
Several local businesses have donated items to make each event more enjoyable for area children, Parks and Recreation Director Robert Moss said.

MARBLE FALLS — Concerned residents and business owners near the U.S. 281 bridge who have not personally heard from officials about the upcoming implosion likely won’t.
And it’s not because the Texas Department of Transportation or contractor Archer Western have disregarded safety in planning the bridge’s implosion.
