Young golfers medal at tournament of new Burnet Junior Golf Association

The highlight of the summer is the Delaware Springs Junior Championship at 8 a.m. Aug. 12 at Delaware Springs Municipal Golf Course, 600 Delaware Springs Blvd. in Burnet. The championship is open to all junior golfers from high school age to the youngest golfer who would like to play, said coach and association founder Stuart Beckwith. The cost is $25 and includes practice balls on the day of the tournament, medals, awards and a meal after the round. High school golfers will play 18 holes, middle-school golfers will play nine holes and younger golfers will play a modified course.
