KINGSLAND — Two people, including a 13-year-old boy, were taken to Austin-area hospitals by helicopter after an ambulance collided with a car at the intersection of RR 1431 and CR 3404, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

MARBLE FALLS — Authorities have launched an investigation into a “suspicious” fire they believe originated near a broken window in the back of a vacant residence.

According to Marble Falls Fire Rescue Chief Johnny Caraway, a motorist alerted firefighters at about 11:45 a.m. Feb. 20 about smoke coming from a house at 611 Ave. P.

MARBLE FALLS — A  28-year-old man is improving after a single-vehicle crash Feb. 17 on RR 1431, just east of Manzano Mile, sent him to a Round Rock hospital.

Michael Whitman, the driver of a 2001 Ford F150 pickup truck, was first listed in critical condition after a crash reported at 2:22 a.m. just outside the Marble Falls city limits, according to Texas Department of Public Safety.

HORSESHOE BAY — City leaders officially accepted four land donations Feb. 19 toward the development of a proposed park trail corridor in Horseshoe Bay.

The land donations allowed the launch of an initial phase of the trail corridor with a potential entry point just off FM 2147 West near the intersection of Sure Fire and Thanksgiving Mountain roads.

LLANO — A 4-year-old boy died and a 28-year-old Burnet woman is recovering from injuries after a truck rollover Feb. 18 on Texas 16 just north of the Llano city limits, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety official.

SPICEWOOD — A man crossing Texas 71 on Feb. 16 died after he was struck by a car, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety official.

The pedestrian, 55-year-old Pedro Hernandez, was pronounced dead at 7:19 p.m. at the scene, near the intersection of Reimers Peacock Road, the report stated.
