SPICEWOOD — A man crossing Texas 71 on Feb. 16 died after he was struck by a car, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety official.

The pedestrian, 55-year-old Pedro Hernandez, was pronounced dead at 7:19 p.m. at the scene, near the intersection of Reimers Peacock Road, the report stated.

BURNET — A partnership between the Galloway-Hammond Recreation Center and YMCA of Greater Williamson County could be near.

Although no action was taken during the Burnet City Council’s regular meeting Feb. 12, City Manager David Vaughn said he hoped to have something in writing by the next meeting.
