Catch a glimpse of the stars this spring at Eagle Eye Observatory at Canyon of the Eagles Nature Park in Burnet, now open to the public for nighttime stargazing sessions.
The observatory, guided by lifelong astronomer extraordinaire Jim Sheets, features high-powered telescopes capable of viewing distant nebulas, star clusters, and galaxies. Daily nighttime sessions, typically starting between 8-10:30 p.m., are available by reservation.
Admission is $25 per adult, $15 ages 5-12, and free for ages 4 and younger.
For more seasoned astronomers, self-guided discovery pads are available just outside the observatory with space to set up their own telescopes.
Eagle Eye Observatory sits along a hilltop near Lake Buchanan as part of the Canyon of the Eagles Nature Park, located at 16942 RR 2341 with a Burnet address. Interested guests can contact 512-473-3366 for more information, or register for the experience on the Canyon of the Eagles website.

A new boutique, Fifth and June, offering children’s and women’s fashion opened its doors in downtown Marble Falls in early March, 2026.
“Opening Fifth and June Boutique here in Marble Falls has been such a meaningful journey for me. After recently becoming a mom, I wasn’t sure what this season of life would hold, but I’ve seen God’s hand in so many details along the way,” owner Ella Cozby told DailyTrib. “I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity and the support I’ve received from family, friends, and the town as a whole.”

Local law enforcement executed a narcotics search warrant on Wednesday, March 4, at a residence in Kingsland, taking four suspects into custody.
According to a media release issued by the Llano County Sheriff’s Office, a coalition of officers and support personnel from the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office, LCSO, and Texas Department of Public Safety conducted the operation early Wednesday morning.
Arrested were:
Eddie Joe Baker, of Kingsland, charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group 1-B
Tara Baker, of Kingsland, charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1/1-B
Steven Lee Courtney, of Dripping Springs, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia
Bobby Lyn Riley, of Kingsland, arrested for an outstanding warrant issued for a failure to appear on a driving with an invalid/suspended license

“This operation highlights the strong working relationships between our agencies and our shared commitment to combating illegal narcotics in our communities. If you are dealing drugs in Llano County, this is your warning!”
