MEADOWLAKES — While area communities launch into once-a-week mandatory watering restrictions, one lakeside community utilizes more than 200-year-old water rights to set its own water-management plan and avoid restriction edicts from the Lower Colorado River Authority.

“We’re kind of unusual to some extent here,” Meadowlakes City Manager Johnnie Thompson said. “We actually own a lot of our water rights, where Marble Falls and some of those other folks have to contract with LCRA. LLANO — If the Devil really wanted to find somebody playing a fiddle hot, then he should have skipped that trip to Georgia and stopped by Llano during the annual Llano Fiddle Fest weekend.

“We’re going to see some of the best fiddle players in Texas and even from outside the state,” festival organizer John Cab said. “It’s really hard to explain how good some of these fiddle players are or what Texas fiddle playing style really is. LLANO — Attorneys for an ex-jailer who pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges in connection with an in-custody death at the Llano County Jail have filed a lawsuit to recover legal fees in resolved criminal and civil cases against their client.

MARBLE FALLS  —  The Uptown Theatre will donate 10 percent of proceeds from a grand opening and a concert to the Marble Falls High School 2014 Project Graduation, organizers say.
