New downtown Marble Falls public restrooms are open
FROM STAFF REPORTS
The new public restroom in downtown Marble Falls is now open for, well, business.
A crane placed the pre-built structure onto its location on the corner of Main and Third streets on Jan. 23. The building has two restrooms labeled for “family” use.
With the restroom open, work remains to be done at that corner. The city will add outdoor instruments along the sidewalk there later this spring to create Harmony Park.
A tree on that corner was removed Feb. 28 due to safety concerns.
While working to prepare the Harmony Park site, city crews found the tree had trunk rot at the soil line. The city plans to replace the tree.
The downtown restroom facility is part of the city’s Park Improvements Phase 1A Project, which includes another new public restroom in Johnson Park.
The Johnson Park restroom is scheduled to be placed the week of March 18.
