Cross and Spurs Cowgirl Gathering aims to help women refresh their faith

DANIEL CLIFTON • PICAYUNE EDITOR

BUCHANAN DAM — Women looking for a chance to recharge their faith or just get it started can do just that during the Cross and Spurs Cowgirl Gathering on April 5. And it’s not just for cowgirls.

“It’s open to any woman,” organizer Suzy G. McCravy said. “It’s a chance for women to get together, celebrate their faith and God and get to know each other.”

The event starts at 8:30 a.m. at the Red Barn Community Center, 2398 RR 261.

McCravy said there will be a light breakfast followed by worship and praise. This will lead into lunch, which is followed by more worship and praise. The keynote speaker is longtime Bible study leader and women’s conference presenter Martha Hart.

“Martha has been leading Bible studies for over 30 years now,” McCravy said. “She’s really in tune with the Lord and knows how to present the Word and a Bible study so it really touches women.”

McCravy organized a gathering last year and found the response quite strong, so she decided to do one this year as well. The goal, she explained, was to reach out to the community, especially women, and give them an opportunity to refresh and reinvigorate their faith.

“It’s going to be very exciting and fun,” McCravy said.

The event, including the light breakfast and lunch, is free. Organizers would like women to register by March 30. Call McCravy at (575) 574-8746 for more information or to register.
