BURNET — While Burnet school officials had planned for two bad weather days, a third one snuck up on them forcing the district to consider asking the state for a waiver.

Burnet Consolidated Independent School District Superintendent Keith McBurnett stated in a news release that two of the bad weather days will be made up on Feb. 17 and April 18 as scheduled in the district’s adopted yearly calendar. BURNET — Burnet, Marble Falls and Llano school district officials canceled classes for Feb. 7 due to winter weather concerns.

School leaders issued the closings in anticipation of cold weather that could bring a mix of freezing precipitation. MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls Parks and Recreation commissioners voted to increase entrance and party fees at the city pool during their regular meeting Feb. 2.

SMITHWICK — A man died after the four-wheel drive vehicle he was in rolled over at Hidden Falls Adventure Park on Feb. 1.
