BURNET — The Marble Falls High School bass fishing team conducted a club tournament at Inks Lake on Jan. 25 as members prepare for two upcoming outings, including the state championship.
Organizers said anglers dealt with more than the usual challenges during the Inks Lake club event.
“(It was) a brutally cold start but finished much better at weigh-in with the 13 boats bringing in 14 nice keepers to the scales,” team sponsor Lorna Ellis said.
The club will hold the Winter Open on Feb. 22 at Lake LBJ, which is the site of the 2014 Student Angler Federation Texas High School Fishing State Championship. The February competition will give anglers a chance to fish on the lake before the state event March 14-16.
