BURNET — History sometimes stirs up memories of an old high school class and a teacher droning on about the Sherman Antitrust Act. BURNET — Inks Lake State Park opened its newest bird blind on the north side of the park Oct. 7.

The structure was conceived by the Highland Lakes Master Naturalists and will allow park visitors to enjoy bird watching and provide educational opportunities.

The blind can seat about 40 adults or 50 children with additional standing room. Plexiglas windows, a solar-powered water feature, photography portals and a rainwater collection system are some of the defining features of the wooden blind.

Admission to the bird blind is included with daily park entrance fees or a state park pass. To access the bird blind, go to the Park Headquarters for directions to the site.

The Park is located at 3630 Park Road 4 near Burnet.
