CASTELL — The rainbows are getting stocked in the river with care in hopes that anglers will soon be there.

Well, it’s not exactly how the “Night Before Christmas” goes, but for folks looking for a little fishing this Christmas season, it sounds perfect. On Dec. 17, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department officials are stocking the Llano River at several spots between Castell and Llano with rainbow trout. BURNET — As a LACare volunteer, Charles Harger witnessed the need for the food pantry first hand. While volunteering twice a month at the Burnet facility helped, Harger wanted to do more.

So a few years ago, at the recommendation of a friend, he put a table in front of his house at 106 Fox Circle, located in the Delaware Springs subdivision on the south side of Burnet off U.S. 281. As people drove by, all Harger asked was that they dropped off non-perishable food items or put some money in a container. ORLANDO — Marble Falls High School senior offensive lineman and tight end Hanner Shipley has accepted an invitation to play in the Offense Defense All-American Bowl.
