Candidates for the Marble Falls city elections will answer questions submitted by residents during a forum at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 23, inside the Community Room at the Marble Falls ISD Central Office, 1800 Colt Circle.

Those unable to attend the event in person can listen to the forum live on KBEY 103.9 FM Radio Picayune, at KBEYFM.com, or via the KBEY app.

“DailyTrib.com and KBEY radio are proud to provide a forum for candidates to get their messages out to voters and a way for voters to get a read on who’s running and where they stand on the issues,” said Victory Media Publisher Mandi Goldsmith. “Transparency in elections and government are major tenets of democracy, and local news has a responsibility to be a part of that process.”

Two council candidates and two mayoral candidates are participating.

Candidates are:

Mayor

  • Richard Westerman (incumbent)
  • Dave Rhodes

Place 4

  • Bryan Walker (incumbent)
  • Rene Rosales Sr.

Place 2 candidates John Davis and Karlee Cauble will not participate due to scheduling conflicts. Although Place 6 candidate Craig Magerkurth plans to attend the forum, he will not answer questions as he is running unopposed.

Candidates will be given three minutes each to make an opening statement and two minutes to answer each of five questions. Questions for the forum were submitted by KBEY listeners and DailyTrib.com readers via email. None of the candidates will receive the questions beforehand.

The forum will be moderated by Victory Media staff writer Nathan Bush. Staff writer Chuck Hamilton will serve as timekeeper. KBEY Operations Manager Ben Shields will broadcast the forum live.

Election Day is May 6. Voters can cast their ballots from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. that day at Texas Tech University at Highland Lakes, 806 Steve Hawkins Parkway.

Early voting is April 24-May 2.

DailyTrib.com and KBEY will also broadcast live a Granite Shoals candidates forum at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at the Granite Shoals Fire Hall, 8410 RR 1431.
