Marble Falls Animal Control Officer Jacey Ferguson found this German shepherd trying to get out of the heat on a windowsill at Colt Elementary School several weeks ago. The dog suffered from neglect and endured such a severe flea and tick infestation (below) that he lost a large portion of his fur and some of his skin calcified. Ferguson has worked to help Shadow recover, but it's at the point where the city needs the public's help for covering some of the medical costs and possibly fostering the dog. A fund has been set up at the Highland Lakes Veterinarian Clinic under the city of Marble Falls for donations. The clinic is located at 1110 RR 1431 in Marble Falls. Courtesy photos
