Join the wildflower celebration at Wildseed Farms in Fredericksburg

Wildseed Farms is holding its annual Wildflower Celebration April 6-21 as a way to welcome springtime and the the burst of color that now dots Central Texas roadways.

Wildseed Farms is the largest working wild-seed farm in the country. Along with acres of wildflowers and plants, the facility has some of the most knowledgeable people around when it comes to growing things.

Rows and rows of color

The wildflowers grow in row after row after row at Wildseed Farms, where wildflower seeds have been cultivated and sold since 1983. Owner John R. Thomas developed the machinery needed to plant tiny wildflower seeds and to cultivate them. The 200-acre fields at the Hill Country headquarters outside Fredericksburg bloom from March through October.

You can stroll through the fields, pick your own bouquets and take a rest at the gift shop and BrewBonnet Biergarten.

Located seven miles east of Fredericksburg on Texas 290 at 100 Legacy Drive, Wildseed Farms provides a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of planting, caring for and raising native wildflowers and other plants.
