Marble Falls cross country first in boys, girls divisions at home meet

MARBLE FALLS — A home course and early morning races were ingredients for finishing first in the varsity boys and girls divisions of the Marble Falls Invitational on Sept. 22. The Mustangs raced to the front of each race and led from the start.

“The course is very challenging,” Mustang head coach Anthony Torns said. “There’s a lot of up-and-down hills. If it was totally flat, the times would have been a lot faster.”

Marble Falls junior Jordan Wright was the first varsity boy to cross the finish line, while junior Sarah Stripling was the first Lady Mustang to finish the race, placing second overall.

“Jordan was 150 yards ahead of the competition,” Torns said. “The kids competed well. The ones who got medals left on a high note.”
