SOTTEVILLE, France — Middle-distance runner Leonel Manzano came in first place in the men’s 800 meters of the Sotteville Les Rouen on July 10 in 1 minute 46.79 seconds.

Manzano, a 2004 graduate of Marble Falls High School, is in Europe preparing for the start of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London after winning the 1,500 meters of the U.S. Olympic Trials on July 1.

This race was the first of three races the former Texas Longhorn is using as tune-ups.

He completed the Emsley Carr Mile of the Aviva London Grand Prix in 4:00.78 on July 14 and finished 11th.

Next up is the International Association of Athletics Federations Herculis Meet on July 20 in Monte Carlo, Monaco, where he will run the 1,500 meters.
