Marble Falls track teams place at Bulldog Relays
Marble Falls varsity boys place 4th out of 8 teams at Wells Fargo Burnet Bulldog Relays with 83 points
BURNET — Though the Mustangs 1,600-meter relay team finished second in 3 minutes 24.82 seconds, Marble Falls ran its fastest time of the season. Head coach Kyle Futrell said all four runners in each of the relay teams did what their coaches told them to – be aggressive in the opening 200 meters of each leg.
“You have to run it the correct way for you to get your best time,” he said.
Burnet was fifth with 64 points, while Llano finished seventh with 55. Salado won the division with 130 points.

Marble Falls varsity girls place 4th out of eight teams at Wells Fargo Burnet Bulldog Relays with 85 points
BURNET — The Lady Mustangs set the school record in the 1,600-meter relay with a time of 4 minutes 10.64 seconds.
“We ran three seconds faster than what we ran before,” head coach Kyle Futrell said.
Marble Falls won the event by 50 yards. Burnet was fifth with 77 points, and Llano was sixth with 74 points.

Marble Falls junior varsity boys win Wells Fargo Burnet Bulldog Relays with 156 points
BURNET — The Mustangs captured their second championship team trophy from a track meet earning 23 more points than second-place finisher Fredericksburg with 133 points and third-place finisher Burnet with 124 points. Llano earned 38 points for fifth place.
The meet drew a total of nine teams.
Sophomore Austin Bird made up 10 meters during his leg of the 1,600-meter relay to win the event at the line.

Marble Falls junior varsity girls place 3rd out of 9 teams at Wells Fargo Burnet Bulldog Relays with 128 points
BURNET — All four Marble Falls teams have improved in their 1,600-meter relays. But what impressed head coach Kyle Futrell was how the junior varsity girls relay team set the pace for Marble Falls.
Maddie Johnson made up 30 yards on her leg to make the finish come down to less than a second.
“She came up a body length short,” Futrell said. “But it set the tone for the mile relays.”
Fredericksburg won the division with 190 points followed by Burnet with 143 points, and Llano tied for seventh with 13 points.
