Marble Falls varsity boys place 3rd out of nine teams at Texan Relays with 104.5 points

WIMBERLEY — Compete. That’s the message Marble Falls athletic director Todd Dodge emphasized to the Mustangs, and the athletes are heard him. The Mustangs continue to finish in the top five in meets across central Texas, and that should bode well for the District 25-4A Meet April April 11-12.

TOP PERFORMER: Schulz continues to pace the Mustangs, winning gold in three individual events and helping a relay team earn silver in a fourth event.

QUOTABLE: “It’s all real exciting right now. We are really proud of what our kids are doing and getting after it. We’re expecting quite a bit of success,” Mustangs head coach Kyle Futrell said.

Marble Falls varsity girls place 5th out of nine teams at Texan Relays with 59.5 points

WIMBERLEY — One of the challenges for the Lady Mustangs is getting the best performances from the fewest number of athletes of the four Marble Falls teams, head coach Kyle Futrell said. Still, he remains enthusiastic because he can see improvement from the squad.

Dripping Springs won the meet with 115.2 points followed by Wimberley with 110.5 and Hays Consolidated with 102.

RESULTS: 100: Kelsey Bauers, 13.55, 5th; 400: Haley Stephens, 1:03.85, Sarah Stripling, 1:03.91; 800: Stripling, 2:27.40, 3rd; 300 hurdles: Sarah Lewis, 48.48, 1st; 800 relay: Marble Falls (Haley Stephens, Haley Coulter, Lewis, Whitney Ulbricht), 1:53.82, 6th; 1,600 relay: Marble Falls (Lewis, Ulbricht, Stephens, Stripling), 4:14.21, 2nd; shot put: Teagan Hall, 32-5, 2nd; high jump: Priscilla Martinez, 5-6, 1st.

TOP PERFORMER: Stripling finished in the top six in two individual events and helped the 1,600-meter relay team to the Lady Mustangs’ best finish in any running event.
