WACO — Two Lady Flames, sophomores Brandi Kuhlmann and Christina Lykken, finished in the top 10 at the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools State Meet on Oct. 20. The two also made the all-state team.

The girls team was nine points away from second place overall and came close to having a third runner in the top 10.

“I’m really proud of the girls,” Faith Academy coach Steve McCannon said. “Another finish on the podium, our fourth in the last five seasons. Consistency eventually leads to championships, so I am really excited for next season.”

The boy team performed well in its first season, McCannon said.

“None of the guys had run before, and you have to start a program somewhere,” he said. “I’m really proud of them for getting us on the board.”
