Former Mustang Leonel Manzano wins mile race at own event
MARBLE FALLS — Leonel Manzano once again proved he is the superior middle-distance runner during his own Manzano Mile event March 24.
Manzano, a 2004 graduate of Marble Falls High School, completed the mile in 3 minutes 55 seconds, the fastest outdoor track mile in the world so far, he said.
The traditional mile in track and field has been replaced with the 1,500 meters, Manzano’s specialty and the event he ran in the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
