ARLINGTON — Three members of the Highland Lakes Track Club qualified for the national meet thanks to their finishes at the regional meet July 8-10.

But only one of them, Brock Foster of Burnet (youth boys, 13-14 years old), will attend the meet in Wichita, Kan., on July 26-31.

Foster will attempt to win his second straight long jump national championship.

“When you defend a national championship in an event, the expectations are always high,” head coach Steve McCannon said.

Foster finished fifth in the event with a mark of 18 feet, 7 1/4 inches and was one of 15 athletes.
