Faith tennis first at district tournament
Faith Academy, 1st place in combined boys and girls category
SAN ANTONIO — The Lady Flames won their sixth consecutive district crown, while the boys finished second during the district tournament April 17. The top four in each category advance to the Class 2A state tournament.
BOYS RESULTS: Singles – sophomore Reagan Vaughn is the district champion; Chase Muller lost in the first round. Doubles — Alec Gonzales and Luke Hering, third place (alternate is Michael Penner), Sean Lavoie and Brian Freeman, seventh place (alternate is Jed Draper).
GIRLS RESULTS: Singles – Sarah Mason Thomas, district champion, Savannah Still, district runner-up. Doubles – Ashley Stallard and Nicole Johnson, district champion (alternate is Jonelle Frazier), Rebekah Graham/Ariel Blaylock, third place (alternate is Mercy Preston).
UP NEXT: Class 2A state tournament April 25 at Waco Midway High School, 1205 Foundation Drive, and April 26 at Waco Regional Tennis Center, 900 Lake Shore Drive, in Waco.
