An HTeaO storefront in Burnet is wrapping up renovations after taking over a long-vacant Burger King building. According to city staff, the shop is expected to open within the next few weeks.

The iced tea beverage shop, located at 1408 S. Water Street, has been undergoing renovations since August when the sale of the building officially went through.

On the week of Monday, Oct. 12, DailyTrib staff observed HTeaO signage being erected at the location, usually signaling the final stages of a renovation. In addition, Burnet Economic Development Corporation board member David Vaughn shared during a Tuesday, Oct. 13, board meeting that the store was eying an opening date in November.

The overall project has been funded to the tune of $200,000 by the Burnet EDC via an incentive agreement approved in March. As part of that agreement, the store was told it must: finish renovations by summer 2027, invest a minimum of $1.5 million into the location, and employ five full-time employees a year for three years.

According to staff, the storefront will add immense value to the city, lighting up a building on a key roadway that had long sat dark.

HTeaO is a Texas-based iced tea drink stop that started as an Amarillo family business in 2009. The company operates over 125 locations nationwide. Learn more at the HTeaO website.
