A new waste management provider, Texas Disposal Systems, will begin service in Burnet next month. In preparation, city staff shared key information on cart removal and delivery, as well as updated pickup zones and dates.

The new provider begins waste pickup the week of Monday, Nov. 2.

The company began delivering new trash and recycling carts this past week. Deliveries will continue through Friday, Oct. 30.

During the week of Monday, Oct. 26, the city’s old service provider, Al Clawson Disposal Inc., will make its final rounds throughout the city to remove all trash and recycling carts. Residents should place the old carts at the curb next week for removal, even if they do not have waste in them.

Texas Disposal Systems will then start service on Nov. 2, collecting waste Monday-Friday across the city in five separate zones. Those zones and pickup dates can be found online here.

As a reminder, trash pickup will continue on a weekly schedule, with recycling once every two weeks. TDS will also provide a weekly bulk and brush pickup of up to two cubic yards per week. This service will replace Burnet’s current Chunk Your Junk event.

Additional information will be updated and can be found on the city of Burnet’s waste disposal website here.
