Stacy Rush was hired as the new assistant superintendent for Burnet Consolidated School District during the Board of Trustees’ regular meeting on Sept. 16. She will start work in the newly created position of assistant superintendent for student services on Sept. 30.

Rush currently serves as the director of School Leadership and Student Services for Fredericksburg ISD. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree, a Master of Education in educational leadership, and a Superintendent Certification, all from Tarleton State University in Stephenville.

She has served in various roles from classroom teacher to district administrator.

“I began my career in education as an elementary teacher,” Rush said. “Over the years, I have worked as an assistant principal, principal of a (prekindergarten through 12th grade) campus, and director of Curriculum and Instruction and federal programs, and human resources.”

In her new role, Rush will assist with athletics, the fine arts department, discipline, safety, and student services.

“My mission is to continue the great things that Burnet has been doing—inciting spirit, pride, and honor—while working with the students, staff, and community to maximize growth for everyone involved.”

Rush told DailyTrib.com she is excited to join BCISD and start her new job.

“Everyone has been so welcoming,” she said. “I’m looking forward to being a part of the school district and community, getting to meet everyone, and providing support.”
