Lady Dawgs build on early lead to beat Fredericksburg

BURNET — The Burnet High School girls basketball team set the tone early in its 53-38 victory against Fredericksburg on Dec. 17.

The Lady Dawgs took a 13-8 lead in the first quarter and steadily added to it as the contest went on.

"I was happy to see us handle (Fredericksburg’s) different changing types of full-court pressure better than we have handled it in the past this season," Burnet head coach Mike Cavender said. "We were able to attack the basket with some easy opportunities after breaking the pressure, and we have to continue to get better at it."
