Marble Falls team tennis beats Vista Ridge

MARBLE FALLS — Marble Falls High School sophomore Makenzie Harrison gave the Mustangs their 10th point Sept. 7 to earn the the Mustangs’ second team tennis match victory in District 25-4A.

After doubles play, the two teams were tied 3-3, but the Marble Falls boys lost four singles matches to give the Rangers a 7-3 lead. Marble Falls players Mike Stripling, Wiley Baskin and Liam Baskin, Madison Dyer, Kelsey McCasland and Mattie Cryer each won their matches, allowing Harrison to close out the total.

RESULTS: Boys — Mike Stripling 6-4, 6-1, Jason Rogers 1-6, 0-6, L. Baskin 6-4, 5-7, 10-8, Daniel Baxter 4-6, 1-6, Wiley Baskin 6-2, 7-5; Noah Guillen 3-6, 1-6. Doubles – Stripling-Rogers 4-6, 2-6; Baskin-Baskin 4-6, 3-6, Baxter-Guillen 2-6, 2-6. Girls — Madison Dyer 6-1, 6-1, Hannah Dockery 4-6, 7-5, 12-10, Mattie Cryer 6-1, 6-2, Kelsey McCasland 6-0, 6-2, Makenzie Harrison 6-1, 6-2, Terrill Baskin 4-6. 5-7. Doubles – Dyer-McCasland 5-7, 6-3, 10-8; 6-2, 6-0; Harrison-Parten 1-6, 6-2, 10-8. Mixed doubles – T. Cryer-Tackitt 2-9, 2-6
