Marble Falls places 2nd out of 11 teams at Daybreak Rotary Mustang Relays
MARBLE FALLS — Though the Mustangs suited up 14 athletes, they scored 112 points, second only to Fredericksburg’s 153.

KEY STAT: Out of the 68 events in four divisions, Marble Falls won 20 first places.
QUOTABLE: “Sometimes we can lament about we don’t score enough depth points. In the girls, we didn’t enter as much. In some events, we were counting depth points as outright wins,” head coach Kyle Futrell said.

Marble Falls places 3rd out of 7 teams at Daybreak Rotary Mustang Relays
MARBLE FALLS — The Lady Mustangs continue to drop their time in the 1,600-meter relay, setting a new school record for the second consecutive week.
This time they took almost two seconds of their time at 4 minutes 8.55 seconds.
The Lady Mustangs scored 91 points behind Fredericksburg at 191 and Burnet at 117.

Faith varsity boys earn 33 points at Buffalo Relays
FLORENCE — Faith Academy boys track coach Russ Roberts said his athletes might have been a little quieter than usual, but he was pleased with the way they competed, noting they were shorthanded during their two meets.
RESULTS: Boys — 200: Royale Brown, 24.33, 5th; 300 hurdles: Hunter Worthington, 53.37; 3,200: J.C. Perea, 12:19.7; 400 relay: Faith (Michael Masterson, J.C. Perea, Jake Diamond, Brian Freeman), 1:38.64, 6th; 1,600 relay: Faith (Perea, Masterson, Brown, Freeman), 3:39.42, 2nd; pole vault: Diamond, 12-6, 2nd; triple jump: Freeman, 32-5, 5th
RECORDS: Royale Brown (200) recorded a new personal best. J.C. Perea (3,200) is now among the district leaders after running the event for the first time, and the 1,600-meter relay team’s time was tops in the Class 2A of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools. Freeman caught the Killeen Ellison runner at the finish line for second place.
