Marble Falls, 8th at Dodson-Evans Invitational

BASTROP — The Mustangs are showing the improvement head coach Lonnie Tackitt is looking for, he said.

"In two days, we didn’t have six rounds in the hundreds," he said. "Nobody was in double digits. They weren’t as low as we’d like them to, but they were better."

The Mustangs competed in a two-day event at the Wolfdancer Golf Course and Pine Forest Golf Course.

One area that still needs attention is the way the players finish each round. Tackitt said the Mustangs lost nine strokes to par on the last hole. Had the Mustangs recorded a better finish, they would have placed sixth.

"Tournament golf is different from practice golf," Tackitt said. "It’s a different feeling, your body feels different. You have to get used to that."
