Mustangs lose tourney opener to Travis; face Uvalde next
WIMBERLEY — Down 71-70 in overtime to Austin Travis on Dec. 27, the Marble Falls High School boys basketball team put its fate in the hands of junior post Rey Baltazar.
Baltazar came through, scoring from the lane, to give the Mustangs (4-13) a lead with nine seconds remaining.
But Travis scored on a 15-foot jumper, which banked off the backboard to go in with two seconds left, and earned a 73-72 victory in the opening game of the Christmas Hoop Fest Tournament hosted by Wimberley High School.
