Coach disappointed with team effort in Mustangs’ loss
MARBLE FALLS — As he reflected on the 63-23 loss to San Antonio Christian on Nov. 28, Marble Falls High School boys basketball coach Bruce Etheridge summed up the contest in one sentence.
"I think last night’s game, our most disappointment wasn’t in the turnovers," he said. "Our most disappointment was in the effort. Our guys are not having a sustained effort as a team. Individually, we’re having guys step up, but as a group, we’re not having a sustained effort."
Marble Falls (1-6) was outscored in every quarter with San Antonio Christian scoring 17, 19 and 18 points in 24 minutes.
Senior post Gayln Griffin led the Mustangs with six points followed by junior post Rey Baltazar with five and sophomore forward Ben Stripling with three. Junior post Rex Printz, sophomore guard Aidin Parnell, junior guard Collin Edwards and sophomore guard Keelan Gamble each added two.
