Flames face Bryan Allen Academy on its turf
MARBLE FALLS — The Faith Academy football team is listed as a four-point underdog against Bryan Allen Academy, according to sixmanfootball.com.
The Flames (3-1) will travel to face the Rams at 7 p.m. Sept. 23 at their home stadium, 3201 Boonville Road in Bryan, that features AstroTurf GameDay Grass, an artificial turf.
Faith is coming off a solid 58-22 win against New Braunfels Christian. But the Flames had to overcome a slow first quarter that ended in a scoreless tie.
Still, head coach Russ Roberts said his squad is ready to face a BAA squad with great facilities located in the oldest private school in the state.
“They were in 11-man football when I was in high school. They used to play against Harlindale when I was a kid,” he said. “The enrollment is obviously considerably smaller now. I understand they’ve got some unbeliveable building projects going on on campus. It’s an up-and-coming place, and I think that it’s a chance to play an up-and-coming program.”
