Marble Falls Tsunami to host three-team swim meet
MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls Tsunami swimming team will welcome the Burnet Waterdogs and Lago Vista to a meet July 24.
The meet is 8 a.m. at the city pool, 305 Buena Vista Drive.
“We’d sure love for locals to come out and support Marble Falls,” head coach Martha Montoya said.
The meet will have 46 events for boys and girls from 6-18 years old. All four strokes as well as the individual medleys and relays will be conducted. Montoya expects the meet to end by 11:30 a.m.
“It’s quick if you keep it running smoothly,” she said.
A week earlier, the Tsunami competed at the Lago Vista meet.
“We did well,” Montoya said. “We took a lot of first places, a lot of second places. The only thing that has been a challenge with our pool and Lago Vista’s is we can’t dive in. We have to do in-water starts. Times will be slower.”
Burnet will host the championship meet at 8:30 a.m. July 30 at Galloway-Hammond Recreation Center, 1601 U.S. 281 North.
