Putting others on track
MARBLE FALLS — Wherever Anthony Torns went, he always was running — running toward something bigger and better than what many of those around him could offer.

“(Running) helped me avoid the negativities in my neighborhood,” he said. “Running was an escape for me. While I never got involved in the sale or use of drugs, I had family members who were addicts or dealers. I had the pedigree to be in prison.”
Torns, 35, is a teacher in the Educational Placement Instructional Center at Marble Falls Middle School and a running coach for the Marble Falls High School cross-country and track and field teams.
He wants students to know they can be all they want to be without falling into the pitfalls of drugs and violence.
