AUSTIN — Burnet High School senior hurdler Nicholas Jung finished fifth in the 300-meter hurdles at the recent Class 3A state meet.

In the process, Jung’s time of 38.66 seconds broke his own school record he set at the District 25-3A meet. The old record was 38.94 seconds.

“Going in, he had the seventh fastest time,” hurdler coach Doyle Walker said. “Here’s what was neat: Throughout all the classes, his final time would have been eighth.”
