Local Olympian creates Manzano Mile to give back

AUSTIN — Marble Falls High School graduate and Olympic athlete Leonel Manzano understands how difficult it is for some children to get involved in sports, especially if cost is a factor.

“When I started out running 12 years ago in sixth and seventh grade, I ran in work boots,” said the former Granite Shoals resident, the son of blue-collar immigrants. “That is not an easy way to start.”
