GEORGETOWN — The Faith Academy boys track team finished third overall at the Round Rock Christian Meet April 10.

“All of the boys worked hard to compete in every event,” head coach John Berkman said. “Many personal bests were set. We were able to compete against and beat several teams in our district.”

Junior Zach McAnally set a new personal best in the 300-meter hurdles in 47.5 seconds.

Senior Will Shipp and freshman Brian Freeman also notched new personal bests in the 200 meters in 23.74 and 24.66 seconds, respectively.

Junior Cyle Earwood clocked 26.78 seconds in the 200 and participated in the 100 meters.

Sophomore Casey Clendennen finished the 400 meters in 64.45 seconds, while teammates Travis Roeder, a junior, was done in 61.00 and Seth McAnally, a junior, completed the race in 64.00.

Clendennen clocked a time of two minutes 25 seconds in the 800-meter run, while Roeder posted a 2:30 and McAnally finished in 2:33.

Freshman Jake Diamond won the pole vault by clearing 8 feet 6 inches.

Junior Dylan Robichaux finished second in the shot put with a heave of 37-11, while junior Randy Burton was second with a throw of 35-1, and Shipp had a toss of 29-7 1/2.

Burton was third in the discus with a throw of 104-5, while Shipp finished fourth with a toss of 103-8, and Robichaux had a mark of 98-9.

In the triple jump, Diamond and freshman Brian Freeman each marked 32-6.

The 4×100-meter relay team of Shipp, Diamond, Freeman and McAnally finished second in 47.25 seconds.

The 4×200 relay team of Freeman, Burton, McAnally and Diamond was third in 1:42.9.

The 4×400 relay team of Robichaux, Roeder, Diamond and Shipp came in fourth in 3:50.

“It was a great day for Faith Academy track,” Berkman said.
