TEMPLE — Two Faith Academy of Marble Falls golfers will move on to the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Class 2A Regional Tournament thanks to finishing in the top 10 of the District 3-2A Tournament Monday.
Sophomore Beth Ann Berkman shot a 101, which was good enough for fourth place, while senior Wyatt Stewart fired a 94 for fifth place.
Coach Rob Stewart, in his first year, said he was pleased his golfers heeded his directions.

“My advice was that every shot counts,” he said. “Take your time on the short putts, relax and have fun.”
Junior Dylan Robichaux missed the cut by a single stroke, scoring a 109, while senior Deanna Hoover finished with a 128.
The district tournament was conducted at the Wildflower Country Club.
“There were some frustrating holes, like in any other golf course,” Stewart said. “The greens were hilly and breaking. I told them to be very careful on the greens. Going uphill, be a little more aggressive.”
He also made sure each golfer took a distance card.
“Make sure before you hit every shot, you know where you are,” Stewart said. “Basically they know how to play, keep their heads in the game and not turn into bad shots.”
The coach noted it was a great day to play golf.
“Conditions were perfect,” he said. “There wasn’t very much wind.”
The regional tournament will be conducted at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course April 12. The top 10 medalists will advance to the state tournament.
