Eunice Argretta “Gretta” Lucas

Eunice Argretta "Gretta" Lucas, 92, died April 15, 2010, in Kingsland. A native of Middleport, Ohio, she was born July 30, 1917, to Clarence and Rilla Hudson Stephenson.
After graduating high school, she lived in Tipp City, Ohio. She was married to John "Herb" Lucas March 18, 1950, in Dayton, Ohio. The family moved to Kingsland in August of 1976.
She was employed with the U.S. Air Force for 14 years as a typist and clerk. She was a member of the Kingsland Community Church, charter member of the Kingsland Community Center, Kingsland American Legion Auxiliary and the Lone Star Bounders RV Club. During her life, she travelled to 49 states and enjoyed square-dancing and cooking. Survivors include her husband; son Terry Lucas and wife Nancy of Conyers, Ga.; grandsons Brian Lucas and wife Erin of Ft. Benning, Ga. and Kevin Lucas and wife Brooke of Afganistan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four brothers.
Visitations are 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Tommy Beck 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Putnam Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at 1:45 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. An online guest register may be signed at www.putnamfunerals.com.
