Agnes Geraldine Browning

Agnes Geraldine (Gerry) Browning, 90 years old, of Round Mountain, Texas passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on October 1, 2026.

Gerry was born March 16, 1936 to Charley Hughes Cox and Neta Mae Raney Cox. She was united in marriage to “her handsome cowboy” Marion Taylor (Buddy) Browning on November 7, 1953, enjoying 68 years together.

She is survived by their five daughters, Sue (David) Jordan, Round Mountain TX, Terry Brooks, Fayetteville AR, Tonya (Ray) Dow-Zachrel, Lebo, KS, Geri (Hunter) Fugate, Emporia, KS and Tammy (Jon) Drosche, Goldthwaite, TX, 13 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 brothers, Charles, Bill, Bobby, and Lester, 2 sisters, Betty and Charlene, 4 brother-in-laws, 4 sister-in-laws, 2 son-in-laws, 2 great-grandsons.

She grew up in Missouri around the tobacco farms during the depression years never allowing the hardships define her spirit, making many core memories with her siblings. She learned early how to make much out of little, how to stretch a meal, mend what was torn, and find joy in the simplest blessings.

Through every trial, she carried herself with dignity, never complaining, always giving. Her hands were worn from work, but they were the same hands that comforted, nurtured, and lifted others up. She taught us that true wealth is not in possessions, but in kindness, faith, and love, making sure all of her family knew how much she loved them and that Jesus loved them more.

She and Buddy enjoyed many years ranching, farming, and traveling with old friends and meeting new friends along the way. Though she is no longer here in body, her spirit lives on in every act of compassion, every moment of resilience, and every memory we hold dear. Rest well, sweet Mama. You’ve earned your peace. Your legacy will never fade.
