Marble Falls golfers begin fall season

GEORGETOWN — The Marble Falls High School girls golf team started its fall schedule Sept. 24 at Berry Creek Country Club with Tori Gomez pacing the Lady Mustangs.

Mustangs
AUSTIN — The Mustangs made their annual trek to the Jimmy Clay Golf Course on Sept. 27.
Head coach Lonnie Tackitt makes it point to take the varsity teams there so the golfers will have an idea of the layout of the course.
RESULTS: Team score 349; Jack Scott 81; Dawson Taylor 85; Ben Mezger 87; Joe Portillo 89; Nick O’Connor 92; Micah Wooten 95; Christian Hunick 104 (personal best); Chris Gregg 108.
QUOTABLE: "We started slowly but got to playing some steady golf on the second nine, so the scores finished better than it looked at the beginning," Tackitt said.
