Crisis center to conduct annual golf tourney

BURNET  — The Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center will conduct its annual golf tournament Oct. 30 at Delaware Springs Municipal Golf Course, 600 Delaware Springs Blvd.

The golf tournament supports the center and lets participants have fun at the same time, organizers said. The tournament is capped at 144 golfers.

A silent auction is also planned. Underwriters are needed and sponsorships are available.

The Crisis Center provides 24-hour emergency services and a safe haven from family violence and sexual abuse, officials said.

Center personnel offer services and support to hundreds of victims and non-offending family members and almost 2,000 people per year call the hotline seeking help.
