Frann Mayhew Anders, 74, of Marble Falls passed away Jan. 29, 2025

Frann Mayhew Anders, a beloved resident of Marble Falls, Texas, passed away on January 29, 2025, at the age of 74. Born in Palestine, Texas, and raised in Texas City, Frann was the only child of Frances and Thomas Mayhew.
Even as a young girl, she was always fashionably dressed. When visitors would arrive at their home, Frann was always asked to play the piano to entertain the guests. She always spoke fondly about her time spent with her Ma and Pa at their farmhouse in Tennessee Colony. She learned to churn butter, collect chicken eggs, and hand-wash clothes. She most loved riding Pa’s old horse named Champ. She would lead him to the pasture with a rope, climb on the corn crib, and ride bareback.
Growing up she loved going to the Galveston beaches to fish, crab on the dike, cruise the Terrace and Burger Chef. During her senior year of high school, she was named Football Sweetheart, F.F.A Sweetheart, and All School Sweetheart. It’s safe to say, Frann was always everyone’s sweetheart.
After graduating from Texas City High School in 1968, she pursued a degree in Journalism and English at Sam Houston State University. While in college, she developed a passion for reading, writing, and literature, which led her to a 40-year teaching career.
After graduating college in 1972, Frann taught one year at Texas A&M Consolidated High School. Shortly thereafter, she married her high school sweetheart, Bo Anders, and they moved to Marble Falls.
Frann began teaching English at Marble Falls High School in 1974. After the birth of her daughter Stacy in 1976, she took what she fondly referred to as an “eight-year maternity leave” to raise Stacy and Justin, who was born two and a half years later. Frann would return to teaching English at Marble Falls High School in 1984 and continue until her retirement in May 2018. Over the years she sponsored countless organizations such as yearbook, cheerleading, and student council. Frann made a difference in generations of students and staff who graced the halls of Marble Falls High School. She could not stay out of the classroom and even taught English one more year at Faith Academy.
Frann was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, a Marble Falls chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. The mission of their sorority was serving others and continuing education with a motto of “Life Learning, and Friendship.” Anything Stacy and Justin were involved in, Frann was there for, even if she didn’t know much about playing soccer, raising dairy goats in 4-H, or selling cookies door to door.
She was an animal lover and enjoyed riding horses. Frann definitely rocked the leotards, leg warmers, and Reeboks in her aerobics classes. She enjoyed art and was a natural-born artist, loving to paint, sketch, and draw. Frann also loved reading and would often exchange her latest novels with her daughter-in-law, Lissa. She was a loyal and steadfast friend, especially when it came to her adventures and monthly dinner gatherings with her “crew.” On Frann’s 60th birthday, she fulfilled a bucket list item by jumping out of an airplane and skydiving along with her son-in-law, Michael. Frann also built her love of skincare and makeup artistry into a Mary Kay business of 20 years. She loved people, teaching, and encouraging others.
Frann’s greatest blessing was being called Bebee by her four grandchildren: Andrew, Zach, Emma, and Cate. She was loved for her love of watching movies, Ninja Turtle fruit snacks, trips to Subway, a randomly organized pantry, her smell, always having her hair and nails done, always being happy, and having a loving heart. Bebee was one of a kind.
She is survived by daughter Stacy Houy and husband Michael, and their sons Andrew and Zach of Marble Falls; and son Justin Anders and wife Lissa, and their daughters Emma and Catherine of Liberty Hill.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 12 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Marble Falls. In lieu of flowers, a tribute gift may be given to the Texas Retired Teachers Association, in memory of Frann Anders. Education was her passion and this would be a great way to honor her love of teaching.

Frann was a great asset to MFHS and the community as a whole. Condolences to Stacy and her family.
Nice obituary of a lovely, gracious lady, educator and friend.
Frann was a lovely lady and a good friend. I taught both of her Babies when they were in first grade and loved both of them. I followed them as they progressed through school. I know they will miss her and love her always!
Frann was a positive asset at the high school and in the community.
