Melba Jean Rushing, 79, of Kingsland passed away Aug. 22, 2023

Melba Jean Rushing, a beloved wife, mother, and member of the community, passed away on August 22, 2023, in Kingsland, Texas, at the age of 79 years and 10 months and is with her Lord and Savior.
Melba was born on October 5, 1943, in Houston, Texas, to Eugene Clark and Ruby Clark (Scoggins).
Melba was married to her devoted husband, William “Willy” Rushing, for an incredible 50 years. Together, they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. William, now 90 years old, lovingly survives her.
Melba was a dedicated homemaker, pouring her heart and soul into creating a warm and loving home for her family. She was a pillar of strength and support for her two daughters, Peggy Rushing (age 57) and Sherry Rushing (age 51), who will forever cherish the love and guidance she provided.
Prior to retirement, Melba’s husband Willy worked at a pharmacy in Houston for over 20 years. Together, they enjoyed the fruits of their labor and created a beautiful life together. Melba was a member of the Unified Pentecostal Church in Houston, where she found solace and community.
In their later years, Melba and Willy retired to Marble Falls, Texas, where they enjoyed the tranquility of the area. After the lease ended, they made the decision to move to Kingsland, where they continued to embrace life’s adventures.
Melba Jean Rushing will be remembered for her unwavering love, kindness, and dedication to her family. Her legacy will live on through the memories shared by her loved ones. May she rest in eternal peace.
