Delma “Del” Wheelock Ware, 91, of Marble Falls, Texas, passed away on August 29, 2023. Del was born on August 23, 1932, in Roane, Texas, to Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Ware.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Bealon Ware; sister Bobbie Frazier; and sons Jimmy Dale Ware and Jerry Dean Ware.

Del was an eight-year Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. After his military service, he pursued a successful career as the owner of Del Ware Companies LLC. Del was also a 33rd Degree Mason, active in the Masonic Lodge in Normangee, Texas. He was known for his dedication and hard work.

Outside of work, Del had a passion for fishing and hunting. He enjoyed spending time in nature, seeking the thrill of the catch and the satisfaction of a successful hunt. Del was also a social individual who never met a stranger. He had a wide circle of friends and cherished the time spent with them, often engaging in friendly card and domino games.

Del held his family close to his heart. He is survived by his loving wife, Janis Ware; daughter Judy (and husband Jamie Brown of Spring Hill, Tenn.); stepdaughter Tammy (and husband Mark Preusse of Round Rock, Texas); stepson Jimmy (and wife Jayme Pond of Marble Falls); 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. His family was a source of joy and pride for him.

A man of faith, Del was a member of the Baptist church. His spirituality provided him with comfort and guidance throughout his life.

A graveside service will be held to honor Del’s memory in Corsicana, Texas. The details of the ceremony will be shared with family and close friends.

Del Ware will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his work, and his passion for the outdoors. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and an unwavering spirit. May he rest in peace.
