Sugar Mama Cookies has a new name: JoJo’s Bakery. Located at 307 Main St. at Old Oak Square in downtown Marble Falls, the bakery was purchased in September 2022 by Jodi and Bill Browning of Horseshoe Bay.
Jodi Browning said she decided to change the name to help prove her investment in the business.
“I felt like it was time for me to take that last step and take ownership of the bakery,” she said. “I thought to myself, ‘What better way to take the ownership than to put my own name on it?’”
The new name will also help unlock more of the baker’s creative spirit, she said.
“By changing the name from ‘cookies’ to ‘bakery’ — because I am a baker — it allows me to create whatever my imagination wants to create any given week,” she continued.
Browning envisions the space becoming a full-scale bakery with expanded offerings such as muffins, scones, and pastries. Even more new treats are on the way, including a coffee bar.
“We have a lot more items and baked goods than before,” Browning said. “We’re expanding our cupcakes, we’re doing breakfast items, and we’re doing different varieties of cookies.”
