The local Tax-Aide chapter is offering free income tax return assistance on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for residents of all ages through April 14. Appointments are required. 

Returns can be filed on: 

  • Mondays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in Burnet at 402 E. Jackson St.;
  • Wednesdays from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Kingsland at 351 W. Chamberlain St.;
  • and Thursdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in Marble Falls at 909 Avenue D. 

Appointment times vary based on the complexity of each individual return.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program is a joint venture between the AARP Foundation and the IRS. The nationwide initiative offers free tax preparation services to middle- and low-income households, senior citizens, disabled persons, and limited English speakers. 

Over the years, the local Tax-Aide chapter has served more than 1,000 clients in Burnet County. In 2019, the group helped 619 clients in Marble Falls alone.
