Raul Serafin died after a recent illness on Wednesday, November 20, 2019. He was born in Austin, Texas, to Sylvia Franco and Raul Serafin on February 20, 1993. He passed at the age of 26.
Raul attended Marble Falls ISD for kindergarten through 12th grade. He participated in the district transition program for vocational training. He worked for Dairy Queen for five years in Marble Falls.
His family will lovingly remember him as a kind young man. A teacher shared that he was a sweet respectful student. The executive director of special services during her time in the district shared that she met him her first year in the district. He was the youngest of the children in the family and excited about coming to school. She had the privilege of knowing him and his family over the many years he attended Highland Lakes Elementary School, Marble Falls Middle School, and Marble Falls High School. He enjoyed sports and participated in Special Olympics in track and field and bowling.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Sylvia Franco; sister Sylvia Serafin Nelson and her husband, Jordan Nelson; sister, Rosie Serafin; and niece, Sylvia Nelson; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
A memorial service is scheduled on January 11 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ for family and friends to say their goodbyes. Burial will follow at the Marble Falls Cemetery.
